Biological activity

It belongs to next groups of Bioreference compounds:
Therapeutic areas:

Anti-cancer agents    Anti-Inflammatory

Target:

Enzymes    Dehydrogenase    Reductases    DNA    SUBDNA

Description:

Azelaic acid is an anti-inflammatory agent. It directly inhibits kallikrein 5 (KLK5), downregulating expression of KLK5, toll-like receptor 2 (TLR 2), and cathelicidin, and suppresses activity of serine proteases in vitro, in vivo, and in clinical settings.

Targets:Thioredoxin reductase; 3-oxo-5-beta-steroid 4-dehydrogenase; 3-oxo-5-alpha-steroid 4-dehydrogenase 2; Tyrosinase; DNA polymerase I;
